Alvaston Infant School is benefiting from a share in the government funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.
We are hold the following fitness after-school clubs as a starting point:

  • Football

  • Cricket

  • Cheerleading

  • Dance

  • Multi-Gym sports

  • Dodge-ball

We are committed to implementing the ‘FIVE KEY INDICATORS’:

  1. To engage all pupils in regular physical activity to kick-start healthy and active lifestyles.

  2. The profile of PE and sport raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.

  3. To Iicrease confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and Sport.

  4. To develop the broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.

  5. To increase participation in competitive sport.

ALL pupils leave primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
